Calendar days vs court days
Calendar days count every day, including weekends and holidays. Court days, sometimes called business days, skip weekends and court holidays. Which one applies depends on the rule you are working under.
Counting from the trigger date
Most rules exclude the trigger day itself and start counting from the next day. This calculator follows that approach.
Deadlines that fall on a weekend
Many rules move a deadline that lands on a weekend or holiday to the next business day. Some deadlines counted backward move to the previous business day instead. Choose the option your rule requires.
Always confirm
Rules differ by court and change over time. Use a calculator to save time, then confirm every deadline against the current rules.
